We use the Pea Soup Dragon to detect smells and leaks. The hose is placed into the manhole and non-toxic and odorless smoke is created by the machine. It is blown through the pipe and this in-turn escapes through any defects, i.e. through the multi-wick, defective pipes or manholes. This method enables us to solve problems quickly and effectively. See the picture of smoke machine that we use.
Hydrostatic Detection
Hydrostatic testing is used to locate leaks in pipework. Leaks can cause massive destruction to dwellings, footpaths, chimneys and driveways. Pressure testing is done with air and water by closing one end of the pipe and filling the pipe with air and/or water. By isolating each section, we are able to identify and locate the problem.

Drain Tracing
When customers are not sure of which way their drains run, we use drain tracing to locate the relevant pipes. A Sound/Sonar Tracer is used to locate buried pipes and manholes, covered tanks, direction of sewers, etc. We trace the drains and mark the line of pipework from buildings to the mains on street. This enables us to dig confidently if required. We also measure the depths of these pipes. Dye testing can also be used to locate drains, culverts, storm & foul sewers, process-lines and tanks.
Drain Cleaning
Our sewer jetters typically produce pressures ranging from 1000 PSI to 4000 PSI, with high water flow resulting in superb cleaning performance. Our drain jetters are ideal for removing soap scum residue, grease, hair and food blockages in drains as well as for maintaining and cleaning product conveyance lines. They are also great for root cutting, removal of mineral deposits and corrosion, industrial pipe and tube cleaning. Their ease of use and portability make them an excellent drain cleaner for scheduled drain cleanings as part of a preventive maintenance program.
The most effective way to remove moss, grime and dirt is by power-washing the surface. We use industrial high pressure power washers for the removal of build-up from driveways, footpaths, buildings and roads. Our machines can power-wash all surfaces including tarmac, concrete, wood, slate, block work and stone. We regularly clean a wide range of agricultural infrastructure including stables, kennels, sheds, yards, slatted units and milking parlours. We also remove graffiti.

Treatment Plants
Treatment Plants enable businesses/households to treat their wastewater on site if they are not connected to the main sewer system. They are different to septic tanks because they require more maintenance and de-sludging on a regular basis to ensure good working order. Treatment plants work by aeration which can lead to odours around properties.
Our team at Cork Drain regularly deal with maintenance & de-sludging of treatment plants and are on hand to assist you in looking after your system. We are happy to advise/discuss any problems you may have.
Grease Traps
We use our specialised vacuum tankers to pump out grease traps on a scheduled basis, as part of a regular maintenance contract or upon request by the customer. It is important that a grease trap is cleaned on a regular basis to ensure that it remains odorless and in good working order. Cork Drain Cleaning holds a valid waste collection permit to dispose of all fats, oils and greases
Our trucks can fit in all driveways and have extended hoses to reach even the most out of the way tanks.
